Works include the removal of the existing bike track (which is being relocated) and the diversion of existing services. The Centre itself is a single storey building featuring:

  • Suspended slab, using waffle pod substructure.
  • Precast concrete wall panel structure to the perimeter.
  • Structural steel roof frame.
  • Skillion, mono pitch, metal clad roof.
  • PV panel system to provide sustainable power.

Project Details:

Lahey is currently engaged as Head Contractor for the construction works associated with the new Singleton Arts and Cultural Centre.

The Centre will house 300 square metres of gallery space and two artist workshop/studios, featuring wet space and digital space, a work room and storage.

An outdoor courtyard and walkway link will connect the Centre to the existing Visitor Information Centre and Café, with the outdoor courtyard acting as a space for sculptural artworks and a place for people to meet.

The design is customised to be a state-of-the-art exhibition and art space, and incorporates a number of sustainable and environmental elements including solar energy.
