Lismore Court Facilities Upgrade

Quick Facts:

CLIENT: NSW Department of Communities & Justice
ARCHITECT: JPA&D Architecture & Design
PROJECT VALUE: $1.9M

Works were undertaken to provide:

  • Reconfigured entry area with security perimeter.
  • Search room off the scanning area.
  • Secure room for the locked storage of guns.
  • Jury yard contraband prevention.
  • Chambers upgrade.
  • Disability access at the front of the building.
  • Jury registration point.
Project Details:

Works included the demolition and reconfiguration of the entry area to accommodate perimeter security equipment, which featured a walk through metal detector, single view X-Ray machine and hand wand metal detector, and a one-way exit area separate from the scanning area.

Upon completion of the works, Lahey was re-engaged by the client to deliver upgrade works to the Court 4 Dock.

The upgrade works were undertaken whilst the site remained occupied which required exceptional programming and coordination by Lahey’s project team so as to not impact on the operations of the facility.

All works were delivered ahead of program and with significant cost savings to the client.
