This Christmas, Lahey Constructions raised donations to The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. With the help of our staff and valued subcontractors, we achieved our target which was to raise enough funds for SCHF to purchase two ‘Pulse Oximeter’ machines, which are urgently needed in the Sleep Ward. A Pulse Oximeter is a machine that is used to measure the oxygen level in blood, particularly how well oxygen is being sent to different parts of a child’s body that is far away from their heart, such as their arms and legs. A Second Visit at Harbord Public School

The NSW Premier, Mike Baird, returned to Harbord Public School for a second site visit on Wednesday 7th December. The Premier addressed the school during a special assembly on the morning and completed his visit with a tour of the new facility. Our education team continue to work hard fitting out the new facility and preparing for the external works. The new section of the school which includes 18 Homebase classrooms, open space activity areas, two storey library and Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) will be ready for when the staff and students return in Term 1 2017. Lahey Awarded the Contract for Southern Highlands Police Station

Lahey Constructions was recently awarded the contract to build the Southern Highlands Police Station in Moss Vale, this will be the 12th police station Lahey have built. The new 2 storey Local Area Command Police Station includes demolition of the existing Police Station, basement level parking and external works. We look forward to working with Police Property Group, NSW Police Force, Gardner Wetherill & Associates and Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions once again.

Riverstone Police Station Goes Live!

Lahey Constructions has recently handed over the new Riverstone Police Station. This is Lahey Constructions 9th Police Station that we have delivered for NSW Police Force. The original heritage building was designed by the government architect WL Vernon, and built in 1892 for use as a lock-up keeper’s residence, the late Victorian brick building was converted for use as a police station in 1979 and remodelled in 1981. Move forward 30 years and this ‘next generation’ style of police station, designed by Gardner Wetherill, will house 63 NSW Police Force personnel. Nestled in the heart of St Leonards, this 2 tower, 11-storey mixed use development consists of 64 apartments, with a mix of 1 and 2 beds with 1 bed ‘loft’ apartments to the upper floors and commercial suites on the ground floor. Lahey Constructions’ site team were excited to take part in the ‘Ground Breaking ceremony at the new Green Square Creative Hub, the former South Sydney Hospital site at Zetland. Harbord Public School Upgrade

Premier Mike Baird, attended a Sod turning ceremony at Harbord Public School to officially mark the construction of the new wing of the Harbord Public School. The Premier, along with the school Principal and four schools captains, were given a tour of the construction site by our Site Team. The School is part of the $70 million initiative that addresses enrolment pressures in the Northern Sydney region and one to integrate the concept of “Learnscapes” through the outdoor learning area. A Healthy Alice Springs Community

Today marks a significant milestone for the Alice Springs Hospital as the tower crane was erected on site. The project that commenced last June is part of the NT Government’s investment in a healthy Alice Springs Community. The remediation works and upgrade at Alice Springs Hospital, which includes fire rectification works and the construction of a new Commonwealth-funded teach and training facility, is due for completion early 2018.

This year, Lahey proudly accepted the awards for two high profile projects at the 2015 NSW MBA Gala Awards Dinner. Crown Street Mall, Wollongong was awarded Excellence in Construction in the Civil Engineering Category (<$20,000,000) and Moree Police Station was awarded in the category of Public Buildings (10,000,001<). We extend our appreciation to the client representatives who joined us at the awards night and to all project staff and the multitude of subcontractors who worked hard on these prestigious projects.
