This Christmas, Lahey Constructions raised donations to The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. With the help of our staff and valued subcontractors, we achieved our target which was to raise enough funds for SCHF to purchase two ‘Pulse Oximeter’ machines, which are urgently needed in the Sleep Ward. A Pulse Oximeter is a machine that is used to measure the oxygen level in blood, particularly how well oxygen is being sent to different parts of a child’s body that is far away from their heart, such as their arms and legs. read more..The NSW Premier, Mike Baird, returned to Harbord Public School for a second site visit on Wednesday 7th December. The Premier addressed the school during a special assembly on the morning and completed his visit with a tour of the new facility. Our education team continue to work hard fitting out the new facility and preparing for the external works. The new section of the school which includes 18 Homebase classrooms, open space activity areas, two storey library and Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) will be ready for when the staff and students return in Term 1 2017. The original heritage building was designed by the government architect WL Vernon, and built in 1892 for use as a lock-up keeper’s residence, the late Victorian brick building was converted for use as a police station in 1979 and remodelled in 1981. Move forward 30 years and this ‘next generation’ style of police station, designed by Gardner Wetherill, will house 63 NSW Police Force personnel. read more..Today marks a significant milestone for the Alice Springs Hospital as the tower crane was erected on site. The project that commenced last June is part of the NT Government’s investment in a healthy Alice Springs Community. The remediation works and upgrade at Alice Springs Hospital, which includes fire rectification works and the construction of a new Commonwealth-funded teach and training facility, is due for completion early 2018.
