On the 22nd January 1970, Lahey employee – Colin (Col) Howe – commenced his employment and today we celebrate his outstanding 50 year anniversary. Starting as an apprentice, Col worked in Lahey’s joinery division for many years before moving into a Finishing Foreman role within Lahey’s construction arm. NSW Department of Communities and Justice have selected Lahey Constructions to deliver the Lismore Court Facilities Upgrade Project. The project includes internal refurbishment to areas of the courthouse as well as an extension to the existing Court 4 Building. Our team will be working in and around the live courthouse environment to ensure this critical project for NSW Communities and Justice is delivered on time. Early demolition works were completed over the Christmas break to allow Court staff to start back at work on 2nd Jan 2020, now on with the main works.read more..
Lahey are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the contract to construct the new St Columba Anglican School Sustainability and Environmental Centre, located at the existing school campus in Port Macquarie. The project includes the construction of a new two-story Sustainability and Environmental Centre which will contain four large classrooms, offices, a preparation area, resource storage rooms and covered breakout areas. External works will include the reconfiguration and realignment of the existing amphitheatre to accommodate the new building. Lahey have recently secured the contract to construct and deliver the RSPCA Sydney Shelter Redevelopment. The project will be delivered in two stages, Stage 1 works include the construction of new single storey building with ground floor carpark, creating an additional 80 car spaces. 87 individual kennels will be located on the upper level, each with their own underfloor ‘’closed loop’’ heating system and dog runs fitted with artificial turf at the end of each kennel block, including dog bath area and treatment rooms. Lahey has successfully delivered the Salamander Bay Senior Housing in Port Stephens, NSW achieving practical completion and occupancy. The new retirement village was developed to allow the new buildings to fit contextually into the existing low density precinct. Lahey are thrilled to announce that the Green Square Creative Centre took away a win at the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) 2019 NSW Professional Excellence in Building Awards held on Friday night in the ‘Commercial Construction: $25 million to $50 million’ category. This now takes the total awards won for the Green Square Creative Centre up to seven.
