Charles Sturt University | Stage 2 Officially Opened

Lahey Construction’s Project Manager Bill Maley and Contracts Administrator Ken Foran recently attended Charles Sturt University Port Macquarie to celebrate the fruition of Stage 2 at the thriving regional campus.
NSW Premier, the Hon. Gladys Berejiklian and Port Macquarie MP, the Hon. Leslie Williams, were among the distinguished guests who officiated at the opening ceremony and paid homage to the excellent design and construction delivered by Architecture BVN, Savills, and Lahey Constructions.
The state-of-the-art project has increased campus capacity at the popular regional university from 1,000 to 2,800 students – making it the largest international campus in NSW outside the metropolitan cities.
Built over 6,300 square metres, the $66 million project was completed in two parts. Stage 2A, which opened in October 2020, delivered learning and teaching spaces, tiered lecture theatres, an event space and technology studio, engineering and science labs, a student gym, and staff offices.
Stage 2B, which was unveiled at the opening ceremony, features the Port Macquarie International Education Centre, NSW Emergency Services training room, an innovation hub and co-working spaces, student support and amenity services facilities.
Lahey Constructions is excited to see the impact the new facilities will have on tertiary education in regional NSW.
