Yesterday Lahey Constructions hosted a Cupcake Day at its RSPCA project site in Yagoona. The charity event was held to raise funds for the RSPCA to provide animals with shelter, medical treatment, safety and security they simply can’t find anywhere else. It was an extremely successful morning, with plenty of yummy treats! When we raise money for Cupcake Day, we are giving animals the gift of time, care, patience and resources. It is an opportunity to give animals a chance to start over who, through no fault of their own, have been neglected and forgotten. Crucially, we are also helping…

As Lahey staff are currently onsite at RSPCA Yagoona, our team see first-hand the dedication and time that the RSPCA staff devote to caring for the animals. Each year the RSPCA estimates that approximately 30,000 animals receive help from their centres, which is about 80 animals every single day! Many of these animals come through injured and…

2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and the circumstances have made it even more important for us to stay connected. The Lahey team across all sites and head offices paused to spend the morning discussing the importance of mental health and checking in with one another. Now, more than ever, this national day has a role to play in reminding, encouraging and empowering us to reach out to someone who could be struggling and start a conversation. You don’t have to be an expert to ask “R U OK?” but it could change someone’s life.
