AIB Professional Excellence in Building Award Win | Green Square Creative Centre

Lahey are thrilled to announce that the Green Square Creative Centre took away a win at the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) 2019 NSW Professional Excellence in Building Awards held on Friday night in the ‘Commercial Construction: $25 million to $50 million’ category. This now takes the total awards won for the Green Square Creative Centre up to seven.

The project was an intricate and adaptive reuse of the existing nurses quarters and operating theatre at the former Royal South Sydney Hospital, which now includes artistic workshops, gallery spaces, community hire space, public amenities and creative offices. The project was a strong commitment to the site’s history, for a new era of service to the Green Square community.

Congratulations to our team including Project Manager, Paddy Holland (pictured); our skilled carpentry and joinery team, led by Colin Howe; our Client — The Council of the City of Sydney; Peter Stutchbury Architecture; and to all suppliers, subcontractors and consultants involved for producing such a creative and innovative design. Thank you also to the Australian Institute of building NSW for hosting such a wonderful night in recognition of the construction industry.
