Lahey’s aim for this Christmas fundraiser was to raise enough money for one new trauma bed for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick, the cost of each bed is around $7k. The hospital had identified the need to urgently replace 18 existing beds. Thanks to our amazing supply chain partners, contractors and generous staff we managed to raise a grand total of $23,279, enough money to fund the purchase of 3 new trauma beds!!

Well done to all involved, you have made a big difference to the sick and injured children that are treated on a daily basis at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.

Big thanks go to Sophie Watkins, Equipment Coordinator Nurse at the Sydney Childrens Hospital who took time out of her busy schedule to show us around the ward and provide an insight into the excellent work the staff at the hospital undertake on a daily basis. Sophie explained how the much needed trauma beds will help staff in their daily tasks, these purpose-built Emergency Beds allow for full body x-rays and rapid access during a life-threatening event requiring CPR. The fully electric Trauma Beds come equipped with a pressure-relieving mattress, foldable IV pole, oxygen cylinder carrier for different sizes, bed end and sturdy storage compartment for equipment or patient records.

Lahey are happy to support the great work undertaken by the staff at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and are proud to continue our commitment to raise funds for the hospital each and every year.
