Lahey was proud to host a site tour of the new Southern Highlands Police Station on Wednesday 28th February, attendees included; The Honorable Troy Grant (NSW Minister for Police), The Honorable Jai Rowell MP (Member for Wollondilly), Cr Ken Halstead (Wingecarribee Shire Mayor), Gerard Stepien (General Manager Police Property Group), Mark de Fraga (Project Manager,BGIS),  Superintendent Christopher Schilt and Inspector John Klepczarek. Our Senior Management team consisting of Vargha Zare Lahey COO and Ben Lee Project Manager lead the tour group around the new facility which is due to Go Live by June 2018.

The new Southern Highlands Police Station is part of the progressive roll-out of ‘next generation’ designed Police Stations across the state. The new station includes; state of the art custodial suite which allows officers to carry out their duties whilst ensuring the best care and safety for detainees, in addition, there will also be a large training and conference room which doubles up as an incident room in times of emergency.

NSW Minister for Police Troy Grant described the $14.9 million facility, which has the capacity to fit 65 staff members, as a game changer for policing throughout the Southern Highlands.

“Moss Vale, Bowral and all of the other areas in this beautiful region have had insufficient, unacceptable policing facilities for far too long,”……. “this is a first-class facility for a first-class community”, Mr Grant said.

The Southern Highlands Police Station will be Lahey’s 12th Police station built on behalf of NSW Police Property Group and more importantly delivered ahead of time. Huge thanks go out to all consultants, PPG, BGIS, suppliers and subcontractors who have supported each other and worked collaboratively throughout the project to achieve a successful outcome.
