The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation has purchased two Pulse Oximeter Machines with the donations we raised at Christmas! Lahey’s Bid Director, Guy Tristram, visited the Hospital to experience first-hand what the machine does for the Hospital’s Sleep Medicine Unit.

The machines are a simple and effective way to screen babies and children for potentially life-threatening sleep conditions by measuring oxygen levels in the blood. They help SCH identify which children need to be prioritised in sleep studies, and have dramatically reduced the extensive waiting list. The machines offer a simple and pain-free way to screen babies and children from potentially life-threatening sleep conditions.

The two valuable devices you have helped fund will help us prioritise the over 700 children newly referred to our service each year for a comprehensive, overnight sleep study to provide a full and accurate assessment of the seriousness of a child’s condition” – Dr Arthur Teng, Head of Sleep Medicine

Once again, we would like to thank our staff, Harvey Norman, Synergy Scaffolding Services, Ashmor Plumbing, KLN Electrical, Moore Stephens, Out There Constructions, HWL Ebsworth and Terranasa / Tiletecnics for their generous and kind donations.

Well done everyone, you are making a difference!
